INDIGITIZE: Amazon Future Engineers
Native Pathways and Reimagine Research Group are working with the Amazon Future Engineers program to explore interest, access, and barriers to computer science (CS) education among
Indigenous students. In Phase 1, the team conducted a wise practices review by engaging 10 leaders through a Talk Story process to understand what Indigenous CS pathways could look like—centering
tribal sovereignty and Nation building. Phase 2 involves qualitative, community-based research with 2 –3 urban, rural, and tribal communities annually, focused on practices that support Native youth in CS while honoring Indigenous values and community service.
